Official Samsung Galaxy S II (Check Page 1 for FAQs) **

    Hindi ganun ka red yung greys ko, noticeable lang talaga siya sa keypad and nothing else but my whites were VERY dim, sa lakas ng reds sa unit on the left na drown yung yellowish tint.

    Yung unit nasas right naman looks normal but meron yellow tint.

    You need to bring that back to the store where you got it tapos sila mag bigay ng instructions papano or sila mag gawa ng replacement after samsung authorizes it.
    Please be sure din to state na red yung greys mo, yun din naka sulat sa technical report saakin atleast may heads up ying samsung.

    Bought from Rockwell kasi to. XD Ang confirmed ko lang ay warranty can be availed from any samsung mobile store. Safe to assume pati 7-day replacement?

    Hindi pala pwedeng dumeretso na ako sa Samsung? Hindi ko po sya sa store nabili, sa TCP ko po nabili yung unit ng dad ko, kanina ko lang po nakuha. Kailangan ko po ba isole dun sa seller para sya ang gumawa ng replacement?

    May 7days replacement yan for sure, hindi ko lang alam saan but if they say any samsung concept store then all you need is just sit and wait for a tech to check it and sign off na replaced dapat.

    All i know is that samsung will ask for OFFICIAL receipts because they only honor warranties from official resellers, inquire nyo nalang sa kanila that you purhcased it online.

    If it has the sammy warranty stickers it may be proof enough but yung laman kasi ng technical report may copy sa OR number at name of the store. Check with samsung to be sure.

  • Ok, thanks. Diagnose ko narin muna baka kasi yung samsung earphone lang sira. Pero baka ipa-check ko narin sayang kung after 7 days pa saka maconfirm na may defect yung audio port ko.. XD

    My Zenus cases arrived na nga pala earlier. Same as Henry. My free na screen protector pero inalis ko rin kasi pumangit display ko, parang maraming rainbow crystals. XD
  • May nakita na akong capdase sa 5th avenue, 1k yung price niya and sadly frosted white pa lang meron.

    San ba meron concept store na may actual na demo unit ng phone natin, plan ko kasi dalhin yung phone ko dun para macompare at magpareplace if ever confirmed defective(screen brightness, low backlit capacitive button, etc.). Paki post naman dito yung alam niyong samsung concept store/service center na may working demo unit.

    I just want to know, do you really need an internet connection para mapagana gps? If no, how does it work?

  • No sir that is NOT normal, my unit has that issue yung greys ko eh red. ikaw ata yung 3rd nag post dito may issue na ganun. I had it replaced indicate nyo nalang din sa tech report sa samsung para may heads up sila.

    My initial uni had dimmer whites and redder greys compared to others, i had it replaced agad.


    make me the 4th one with the same issue. i got two units din kasi last saturday from rockwell, one for my use and the other intended for sale. may prospective buyer na kasi kaya i tried to check the camera. after that, i tried to compare it side by side. mas red yung lower part ng notification screen pag naka 0 brightness nung isang unit for selling.

    when i was checking the unit, i was only after the yellow tint, malay ko bang may red tinting issue din pala. i'm from baguio so i went to the neareast samsung center here in SM Baguio. They don't honor 7 day replacement since di ko daw don binili, all they could do was service the phone. i asked if they could make a report and indicate the date of my complaint, since i'll be coming from baguio going to manila just to replace the phone. baka mag lapse yung 7 day warranty. di rin daw pwede since, again, i didnt buy the unit there. Tama ba yun?

    tried to call memo express, pinapagawan nila ako ng report sa samsung baguio, and i told them di daw pwede. i asked if i could get my phone replaced sa office nila sa binondo (yun kasi nakalagay sa receipt) ang sabi sa akin i have to go to sm north edsa daw to have it checked and get a technical report.

    to those of you who had issues with the phones they got from rockwell last july 2, what did you do to get a replacement? did they replace your unit?

    Buti nalang na check mo agad bago na benta, mas masakit sa ulo at online rep mo if it was bought.

    Sa alam ko lang sir eh you need a to facilitate that talaga, yung nag bentahan pag july2 hindi ba sinasabi ng mga taga samsung where to claim the warranty for 7days replacement.. dapat kasi may partner store or something sila.

    Saakin kasi I bought it at Aerophones, samsung told me to go to them and a store rep will facilitate it for me nag kataon lang may official service center on the same mall kaya pina sama ako sa rep at nalaman ko yung entire process.

    tama sila sir, check mo ung receipt mo kung san ka dealer naka base for example ako nasa into gadget kaya sa greenhills ako dumiretso bago ako dumaan sa into gadgets pumunta muna ako sa samsung service center para mag pagawa ng tech report take note sir papagawa ka lang ng tech report hindi mo papa open ung cellphone mo kasi pag na open yan hindi na dealer ang mag papalit nyan samsung na which take around 1 month na

    and after mo makuha ung tech report punta kana sa dealer mo tas pakita mo ung unit mo at the same time ung tech report tas papalitan na yan.

    ako ganyan ginawa ko kanina kasi may dead pixel ung akin. so far 1 hour lang napalitan agad.

    guys meron ako ishashare sainyo. dumaan kasi ako sa service center d ba? i approach the csr kasi ako na ang next customer, and then i tell the sad story of my sgs2 and then all of a sudden biglang nag comment ung cs sabi nya
    sir mukhang nag panic buying kayo dapat pinatagal nyo muna mga 2 to 3 months
    tapos biglang kinalabit siya ng katabi niyang csr, parang biglang napaisip ako na ano kaya ibig sabihin nun, siguro may alam sila regarding this issue,

    and then nung tinanong ko bakit naman po? ayun after makalabit ng katabing csr napahinto si ate saglit tas sinabing para bumaba ung price

    sa aking observation, none of the blogs or website na nag labas ng defect sa sgs2 except for the yellow tint and pink spot the rest wala na like (dead pixel,grey becoming pink,headset overheating)

    well for me tao lang naman, hindi ko kasalanan kung maisip ko to, hindi kaya alam ng mga tao sa samsung na medyo hindi maganda ung na deliver sa philippines na mga sgs2? kaya puro ganto tayo? kasi first ship tayo eh ang susunod daw na ship is next month mga august daw, kaya nag taasan mga price ng sgs2 comparing here @ tipid and to other retail/dealer ng samsung kasi mauubos na ung stock ng first ship.

    hmmm i cant blame myself sayang naman kasi ung freebies na nakuha natin from that event.

    I think the reps were not really made aware by samsung but they got self aware due to the high returns of the device.

    @Yellow Tinting Issue

    The yellow tinting issue ( and other screen issues ) seems to be extremely wide spread, I understand that expectations are personal and if its not met then by all means do anything you can to rectify the issue this includes requesting a replacement unit over and over again, Im not saying abuse the 7day replacement but its there for a reason. It would be a bit unfair if I dictate what expectations should be.
    If the device you have is fine for you then good for you, if you claim there is no visible yellow tint then your picture would greatly help this thread and to future interested buyers, this is not a way to scare them but a way to make them aware that such issues occur on the phone which should not be expected on a device that is marketed as the best 4.3" display on the mobile market, not even for a device that costs 29,990 (SAMSUNG SRP).

  • @jkda_08: Halos lahat naman may wi-fi na ngayon, sa mga laptop mostly built-in na yung wi-fi. And then the device itself is capable of making its own wi-fi signal so you don't even have to use a wi-fi router. Very smart yung idea ng Kies Air, in my opinion. BTW, may ganito din bang app for other android phones? Is it a hardware or a software limitation? First time android user...


    BTW, the case I mentioned before fits the SGS2 nicely (SGP Ultra Silke w/ Ultra Crystal screen protector -- available in eBay). The texture is superb. Di sya shiny smooth (like the Ultra Capsule), so its not an oil/fingerprint magnet, but it's not a lint magnet as well. Sarap pa sa kamay. Just another option to consider.


    EDIT: Tried comparing my Samsung Wave 8500 (Super Amoled Display) vs SGS2, naging evident yung yellow tint. I even set all settings for the SGS2 to max (brightness, dynamic background effect, and not applying the auto adjust screen power), mas maganda yung result for the Wave (also in max brightness)... disappointing... but not enough to bother me. I trust they'll find a way. I doubt it's a hardware issue since I can see some whites that are truly white--like the date when you pull down the notification area.

    i think sa US ang second wave ng sgs2 kasi hinohold pa ng apple dahil sa lawsuit na yan.

    patience na lang.

    i told the man from samsung that i was from baguio, i asked them what i have to do in case i have a problem and need a replacement within 7 days. he seemed clueless and told me 6 months warranty at any samsung service centers naman daw? i asked hindi ba 1 year yung warranty, and asked him again that i'm asking for the 7 day outright replacement just in case i found problems with my phone. nagmamadali din kasi tapusin yung transaction namin kasi tinatawag ng boss niya.

    yes sir memo express yung O.R. na na release sa akin. just to be clear sir jkda_08, sa rockwell niyo din kinuha yung unit niyo? ang alam ko din kasi different dealers yung nasa event sa rockwell last saturday, di lang from memo express where i got mine.

    Sir jkda_08 i need to get the technical report first right? after the report, go to memo express to show them the report? technical report lang naman pala, di pa magawan ng Samsung Baguio. Pasensiya na, i'm not familiar with manila kasi. san po bang mall na may service center ng Samsung at Memo Express? ang hirap naman kung service report lang tapos pupunta ako ng samsung service center to get a report tapos claim ko pa yung phone sa memo express. hindi ko kasi alam pasikot sikot diyan.

    makes you wonder what the freebies are really for, "bait" para sa atin, kahit alam nating may issues from the 1st countries who got the phone first.

    I have no official sources to back this up but on the global market I believe we are on the 2nd batch of produced units, but technically first batch sa saatin.

    Possible, but from what I know carrier variants ata inuuna but i hope im wrong, if this hits the US with the same issue ang dadaming mag complain about the yellow screen.

    Actually my GF saw the issue while she was using my phone, she doesnt even know about the issue and I dont talk too much tech stuff to her. My sis also saw the issue on my phone pero nakita niya mas dark daw yung left side while she was trying out the virtual keyboard.

    Going back to my previous post, our expectations are different =)

    Samsung is known as a top seller of LCD/LED TVs. Pano kung may gantong issue sa TV nila. Imagine sasabihin nila sa customers nila "normal lang yan sa LED screen, medyo may yellow/pink tint sa lower side ng TV lalo na pag low brightness ang image. Flagship phone ng Samsung ang Galaxy S2.

    REITERATE "...NOT SCARING BUT TO MAKE FUTURE BUYERS AWARE" we're not making things up naman, we bought a unit and became witnesses of the issues plaguing samsung galaxy s2 since before it even came here. I'm not trolling or anything, I bought this phone knowing the issues/risks. I have the phone, now I'm waiting to see how Samsung would handle and deal with the problem.

    Mga Sir di naman siguro off topic yung discussion natin right? Ayaw ko naman ako maging cause sa pagka lock ng thread.hehehe

    actually sir may ibang theory pa, according sa ibang sites/blogs, US ang last na makaka receive ng Samsung Galaxy S2. they're selling the first batches to countries where poor customer service isn't a big issue or not being regulated with strictness. Imagine sobrang hyped mga US buyers tapos biglang madaming magde demand ng returns/replacements/refunds. isa tayo sa unang nabigyan para tayo magsa subsidize nung cost nung defective phones. CHISMAX lang, I CANT CONFIRM IF ITS TRUE, forgot what site i read it from. Di kasing credible ni boy abunda nagsabi pero di ba parang possible naman.hehehe

    thank you po marami. friend ko yung pamangkin ng dealer ng samsung dito. try ko na pahelp acquire ng technical report dito kung pwede.
  • An educated guess would tell me that US is the last target market simply because in Asia has the highest % of mobile phone users, I believe US is only 3rd. But in the US customer service and product satisfaction is what matters the most, malaking issue talaga into next month when the SGS2 officially hits US stores. Im gonna have mine repalced 1 last time if may unit na minimal lang yung tinting issue after nyan warranty nalang talaga maybe in 6 months time.

    Also sa US rare ata yung 7 days return, what they normally have is 14 and 30, so sooner or later users will spot this issue.. but then again the GPS issue on the SGS1 was very wipe spread and samsung never really got to fix it, A-GPS worked flawlessly though (duh)

    that's why I'm holding back up to the end of the year if ever I'm buying an sgs2 unit, to sort of figure out the bugs and hopefully they're all fixed by then. usually first few batches may mga problems talaga. minsan swertihan sa unit.

    mas malaki yung box tapos may kasama na ding leather case. kala ko nga we'd be getting the same since may free leather case din na nakalagay sa website ng samsung, but to my surprise. mas malaki pa box ng leather case at car mount.hahaha

    Nag taka ako bakit yung box sa india version mas maganda or mas "costly"
    Yung box ng SGS1 was made with better quality stuff even the printing was better, sa SGS2 parang china phone yung printing and box haha!
