hi guys need some help po. all of a sudden yung LGOG ko biglang namatay. tapos everytime i turn it on, lalabas yun LG logo tapos parang blank screen nlng after. alam kong buhay yung screen kasi the screen itself may light yung mga corners and pag tiningnan mo di totally blacked out yung screen as opposed pag patay talaga sya. kahit anong gawin kung button combo (volume down + power button) or (volume up + power button) or (volume up + volume down + power button) wala ding nangyayari. i still end up in the same state na lalabas lang yung LG logo saglit tapos di nagtutuloy boot up nya. di lumalabas yung red indicator pag sinaksak mo yun charger pero i noticed na kapag nakasaksak yung charge tapos lumabas yung LG logo, pag nag long press ka sa power button mamatay totally yung screen, long pressing it again would make the red indicator light open pero after a while mawawala na ulit.
hope anyone could help me.

Easy to do lang po ba yun? Baka kasi masira ko. Thanks for replying sir kuro_chan

@tcpfirstimer
sa youtube ko lang din sya nakita, and yup dalawang screw lang sa baba, medyo mahirap yung pag sungkit ng back cover, mas ok kung mahaba ang kuko mo or may tool ka pang sungkit, tska ingat lang baka mawala yung power at volume buttons, may 2 screw din yung battery connector. good luck bro

Here's some of my observations after a week since updating my G (the official phone name after the update, "Settings > About phone > Phone name) to Kitkat:
1. Minor UI changes.
1.1. Theme: Only one theme is pre-installed but you can download more via LG SmartWorld app.
1.2. Lockscreen: No knock code and tap to wake feature. Some widgets can be added and viewed on the lockscreen.
2. Auto screen brightness feature sucks. I always use this but when I updated to KK it lost its usefulness. If you turn this feature on, the display is too dim when indoors. The only time this works for me is when the phone is outdoors or under a very bright light. This used to work perfectly on Jelly Bean.
3. Over-all responsiveness:Before the update on Jelly Bean, 10/10. After the update on KK, 9/10. Turning on the magnification gestures in the accessibility setings will significantly slow down the responsivenes of your G. Kitkat should provide a smoother experience but my G got a bit slower on some departments. Ex: A little lag when typing the PIN entries on the lockscreen (magnification gesture turned on) but typing text messages through the virtual keyboard is still a breeze.
4. New 3D-like design of the virtual keyboard although it got narrower as more keys were added. You can now also download keyboard themes through the LG SmartWorld.
5. Camera: New interface. Less clutter. You will only see the flash, swap camera, mode and settings icons on the left. Autofocus is not as "active" as before. It can now focus on a subject and stays with it. Pictures are slightly better in my opinion.
6. LED light: Doesn't work anymore except on Calls and Messaging notifications, meaning it won't light up if you get notifications from FB, Twitter, Chat apps, Email and other apps. It still lights up when being charged, though.
7. Task switcher & Task manager: Tasks and its RAM usage are automatically cleared when you press the "clear" option. Before if you want to kill an app and free up some RAM you still have to manually stop it in the "Running apps" of the Task manager.
8. New File Manager interface. Files are segregated in 5 categories: All files, Music, Image, Video & Document. There is also a category for Cloud storage.
9. Dialler: 3D-like design and already included in the QSlide apps.
10. Developer Options are no longer accessible. (This feature is actually hidden but I managed to turn this on)
11. Battery: Slightly better battery management.
Please take note that these are my observations only using my LG Optimus G local version. Over-all I can say that the update is not yet perfect and there are still some bugs that needs to be addressed. There are workarounds in some problems that I mentioned especially the LED notification light that I have seen in other online sites but I haven't tried it yet.
My Optimus G is already in KK and it's something that I waited for a long time. All I can say now is that the waiting never stops at least for software updates to fix some bugs. Some has reported getting software update to fix the LED bug.

hi po...may issue ung e975 ko, every time na isasalpak ko ung charger or usb cable nag-bobot sya lagi sa download mode, the only way na magboot ulit sya nang normal is tanggalin ung charger/usb then hold power button...so kapag nagcha-charge ako naka-download mode ung phone di ko magamit while charging. di naman nag-loloose or naipit ung volume/power button...may naka-experience na po ba sa inyo nito?
edit: tried flashing stock rom then custom rom, so far okay naman sya, di na nag-boboot sa download mode.

I managed to make the LED notification work (stock KK) by using an app. I read in other forums about the app which is downloadable through Playstore. The app has the capability to show settings that are not accessible in regular stock settings. I ticked some boxes and my LED is now lighting up again for notifications other than messages and calls.
