For wearables be it for android or ios, please care to share your experiences in using your smart wearables for the benefit of everyone.
For starters:
(Posted this similar mini review online in other forums)
Bought a cherry watch n5 last january 30 this year for curiosity and novelty sake. Here are my observations and updates after a week of usage. At the price point of php 1,999.00 please DONT expect much. As a smart watch by itself without BT Notif on, it works fine. No probleme in making and receiving calls ala Dick Tracy, sending and receiving text messages. Texting is accurate even with its tiny keyboard to my surprise. Audio notification is loud. Loudspeaker is passable.
Design
Iphone watch look a like. Rubber strap is flimsy and fragile especially when inserting the tiny clip in the hole. CM should have used ala Casio rubber straps or used the previous design of its G2. Take good care of its rubber clip attached to the display which i think is its weakest point with prolong usage. Saw a defective n5 in display at a CM store with its plastic rubber clip innards broken and no amount of inserting it will put it back into place.
Re its crown, it is only for on/off display and NOT for scrolling when you turn it.
Re its speaker grill, it is located at the back. Much safer than putting it in front of the display resulting to water seeping in immediately in case of sudden downpour. Just make sure to keep your wrist dry from sweat.
Usage
With BT Notif on and paired with an android 4.4 with BT3.0, the smart watch would last more or less 20 hours depending on the your usage. With BT Notif off, it would more than a day. For me, i charge it every 24 hours with 1 bar remaining on the watch.
BT Notif application
A hit and miss love affair. Ive noticed that the BT notif app is stable when paired with an android phone with BT3.0 (the n5 has BT 3.0 version). Phone call notifs, sms notifs and BT audio control - no problems encountered. In a week of usage, Ive tried pairing it with an android phone with BT4.0 and BT notif disconnects frequently even if both are side by side. No idea re that. Best setup is your n5 on your left wrist and your phone on your left pocket for longer BT connection stability. Also the smart watch reminds you if BT connection gets disconnected.
GPRS
No need to use it. Working yet very small and slow.
If your budget is only 2k, then the cherry watch n5 is for you. But if you have the extra money, then go for the branded ones (huawei B2, moto, iwatch, etc.)
Again my 2 cents.
