Chains Broken
Today's Scripture
"O LORD, I am your servant; yes, I am your servant, born into your household; you have freed me from my chains." (Psalm 116:16, NLT)
Imagine what you could become without the chains that are limiting you. What could you accomplish without that chain of fear and insecurity? What kind of relationship could you have without that chain of guilt, shame, and feeling wrong about yourself? How high could you go without that chain of negative words that were spoken over you, telling you how you don't measure up and can never be successful?
It's time to be freed from those chains. Your destiny is too great, your assignment too important to go around bound.
Quit telling yourself you're stuck, you'll always struggle, you'll always be lonely, you'll always fight depression. The chain breaker, the Most High God, is working in your life right now. When you least expect it, things are going to shift in your favor. You are not going to be a slave to debt, fear, or an addiction. He is releasing you into increase, into favor, and into new levels.
Ask Him to set you free, and start living from a freedom mind-set.
A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You that You are the Most High God, my chain breaker, who is releasing me into increase, into favor, and into new levels. Thank You that what has limited me in the past is not going to hinder me anymore. I believe my chains have been broken. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

Take Off the Labels
Today's Scripture
Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe." (John 20:27, NIV)
After Jesus rose from the dead, Thomas initially doubted that it was true, but soon believed through Jesus meeting with him.
What's interesting is that Thomas doubted that one time, but he's been labeled "Doubting Thomas." You would think he had doubted and questioned his faith for his whole life, but this had been just a few days of his life.
It's easy to let one failure define who you are. If Thomas would have worn that label, he would never have fulfilled his destiny. Yet the apostle Thomas took the gospel to India and made an incredible impact with his life.
Are you wearing negative labels from the past? God's mercies are new every morning. Receive that mercy and move on.
"What about that failure?" It's in the past. "What about that mistake?" It's covered by mercy. "What about the divorce, the compromise, the time I blew it?" That's over and done.
Life is too short for you to let what happened in the past keep you from the great things God has in your future.
A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You that there are no negative labels that can stick to me because I have received Your great mercy. Thank You that I am not defined by my mistakes and failures, but I am defined by what You say about me. I am forgiven and redeemed and free from condemnation. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

Don't Look Back
Today's Scripture
"My eyes are swollen with weeping, and I am but a shadow of my former self." (Job 17:7, NLT)
In the Scripture, Job's life was suddenly shattered by great personal losses as well as a devastating illness. Although Job honored God with all of his life, he experienced a difficult test of his faith that he didn't understand.
Maybe like Job, you feel like a shadow of what you used to be. At one time you were healthy and strong, but now you're weak and tired from fighting an illness. At one time you were blessed in your business, but now you're barely making it. Or at one time you had a great marriage, but now you're just trying to keep it together.
Fortunately, Job's story did not end there, and neither will yours. God eventually turned it around and brought Job out with twice what he had before. After the heartache, after the loss, after the sickness, after the divorce, you're going to see years of health, happiness, and favor to where you don't look back and dwell on what you've been through.
Bad breaks are not your destiny; double is coming.
A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You that no matter how I feel about a challenge, nothing and no one can stop You from turning it around. Thank You that my story doesn't end trapped in difficulties or bad breaks. Help me to know that this too shall pass and double blessing is coming. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

Where to Put Your Trust
Today's Scripture
"Woe to those who run to Egypt for help, trusting their mighty cavalry and chariots instead of looking to the Holy One of Israel and consulting him." (Isaiah 31:1, TLB)
It's interesting that with all of today's incredible technology and amazing medical advancements and procedures that one virus, such a seemingly small thing, shut down the whole world in 2020.
It reminds us of just how little control we have over our world. If we put our trust in our finances, they can go down overnight. If we put our trust in our job or our career, it can suddenly change for any number of reasons.
That's why it's so important to put your trust in God. He's the One who doesn't change. He's the Source of our strength, ideas, creativity, resources, and wisdom. God is the giver of all good things. Yes, we appreciate the companies we work for and the income each week, but they are not our source. They are simply a resource that the Source is using.
God is looking for people whose hearts are turned toward Him. Make sure that you keep Him first place. You don't have to seek the blessings; just seek Him and the blessings will seek you.
A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You that You are constantly working, constantly showing me Your goodness with every good gift that comes into my life. Thank You that You are my Source. I will keep You first place and live today with an attitude of thankfulness and gratefulness. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

Ignore the Lies
Today's Scripture
"He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies." (John 8:44, NLT)
You can't stop the enemy's lies, or pray away the negative thoughts, or get so determined that you're never going to feel fear. But you don't have to be intimidated, and you don't have to live worried. The lies are a sign that what God promised is on the way, that there are great things in your future. He wouldn't be telling you those lies if healing, freedom, and abundance aren't around the corner.
Start ignoring the lies. Quit living worried about your health, your finances, or how you can accomplish your dream. Quit letting the lies dominate your thought life. The battle is taking place in your mind. The enemy is a liar and a bully. He knows if he can control your thoughts, he can control your life.
When you recognize his tactics, when you know he comes at you with lies and distortions, you can deal with them properly. You won't let the lies keep you from your purpose. Ignore the lies, keep moving forward, and God will get you to your destiny.
A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You that I can guard my heart and keep it free from all the lies and distortions that try to keep me intimidated and living worried. Help me to recognize the enemy's tactics. I declare that I will ignore the lies and believe the truth of Your Word. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

Take That Step of Faith
Today's Scripture
Jesus told him, "Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk!" (John 5:8, NLT)
In John 5, when Jesus asked a disabled man, "Do you want to get well?" he made excuses and tried to justify his condition rather than answering, "Yes, that's what I'm believing for." After thirty-eight discouraging years of having this disability, the man had gotten comfortable in his dysfunction and lost his passion to be well.
But when he heard Jesus' call to do the impossible and rise up and walk, something rose up in him to try, and against all odds a sudden strength came into his legs and he was instantly healed.
As with this man, God is going to ask you to do things that you don't think you can do. In your own ability, you can't, but when you take that step of faith, God will step in and give you supernatural ability.
That's because there's favor in your calling. In your calling, you'll break addictions, beat the cancer, and defeat the depression. God is saying, "I'm calling you up higher, into abundance, into freedom. I'm calling you into new levels."
A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You that with Your calling upon my life comes the power to release any old thinking, old habits, discouragement, and dysfunction that would keep me stuck. I'm dropping the excuses that hold me back and taking steps of faith for a new beginning today. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

What's in Your Plan?
Today's Scripture
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV)
God has a plan for your life, but He doesn't show you all the details. If He showed you what He has in store, where He's taking you, it would excite and amaze you. But if you saw what it's going to take to get you there--the giants and Pharaohs you'll face, the lonely nights, the betrayals, the closed doors--you would think, "I'll just stay where I am."
God doesn't show us the details because He knows we would talk ourselves out of it. If you can't figure out how something is ever going to work out, and you start getting worried, that's a sign God doesn't want you to know. You have to be comfortable not knowing.
When you say, "God, I don't see a way or have the answer for how this situation can work out, but I trust You," that attitude of faith is what allows God to do great things. He had the solution before you had the problem. Pass the test and simply trust Him.
A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You for Your plan for my life, a plan that is full of hope and an abundant future. Thank You that You are calling me to trust You and to be comfortable not knowing how everything will work out. I believe that You are for me, and that is all I need to know. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

Right Thoughts
Today's Scripture
"Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts." (Colossians 3:16, NIV)
I've learned that if you fill your mind with the right thoughts, there won't be any room for the wrong thoughts. When you go around constantly thinking, "I'm strong. I'm healthy. I'm blessed. I have the favor of God," then when the negative thoughts come knocking, there will be a "No Vacancy" sign. They won't be able to get in.
You need to take inventory of what is occupying the rooms of your life. If you give fear a room, faith gets left outside. There's not room for both. If you give "I can't" a room, "I can" is left outside. If you give lack, barely get by, "I'll never make it" a room, then increase, promotion, and abundance are left outside.
Quit renting out space in your mind to your problems and self-pity. Tell those negative thoughts, "You've occupied my rooms long enough. I've got a new resident coming in. My new resident is faith, joy, peace, healing, and victory."
Let what God says about you have a permanent home.
A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You that I can let the message of Jesus dwell richly in all the rooms of my life. Thank You for all the wisdom, psalms, hymns, and songs of the Spirit that are filling my mind. I declare to every fear and doubt that there is no vacancy. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

Crowned with Favor
Today's Scripture
"Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with favor and compassion." (Psalm 103:4, NASB)
We weren't created to go through life overcome by problems, struggling to make it, stuck in mediocrity. God didn't create you to live defeated, burdened down by fear or addictions. He created you to reign, to be the victor not the victim. He's already lined up moments of favor when He's going to make things happen that you couldn't make happen.
The Scripture says that God has crowned you with favor. That crown is symbolic of the fact that we're supposed to reign. You are crowned to defeat enemies. Crowned to take your family to a new level. Crowned to succeed, to excel, to leave your mark.
Anything negative that's been reigning over youguilt, bad breaks, dysfunction, insecurity, people trying to pull you down--there's about to be a shift, a change in authority. You're about to reign over what's been reigning over you. Even now chains are being broken. Things that have held you back are coming down. It's your time to be free. It's your time to step into abundance.
A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You that You put a crown of favor on my head by Your grace. Thank You that You created me to reign in life with You, to be the victor and not the victim. I declare that I am going to reign over what has reigned over me. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

Supercharged
Today's Scripture
"You've supercharged my life so that I soar again like a flying eagle in the sky!" (Psalm 103:5, TPT)
When David first saw the giant Goliath, he could have thought, "I'm too small, not strong enough, not experienced enough. I have no chance."
David knew he was limited, but he also knew that God was saying, "Don't worry, I'm about to supercharge your life. I'm going to give you strength that you've never had, ability that you've never seen, and favor that will catapult you ahead."
We all have times when we feel we've reached our limits. We've done our best at work or in a relationship, stayed in faith, but the dream seems too big, the challenge too strong. We've come to the end of our ability. If only we had more talent, more stamina, more favor, more creativity, then we could accomplish the dream.
When you feel you're at a disadvantage, the opposition is stronger, you don't have the endurance, God is about to supercharge you. God is putting a new set of wings on you. Get ready to soar, get ready to overcome, get ready to go places you've never been.
A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You for this wonderful promise that You will supercharge my life. Thank You that You have ways of giving me new strength and abilities that I've never seen. I believe that You can cause me to soar and overcome my limitations. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

Knowing Makes All the Difference
Today's Scripture
"Within your heart you can make plans for your future, but the Lord chooses the steps you take to get there." (Proverbs 16:9, TPT)
We all go through disappointments and things we don't understand. It's easy to get discouraged and lose our passion.
But God won't allow anything to happen that will keep you from your purpose. He's already taken into account every bad break, every person who walked away, every mistake you've made. What we can't see is how He's working behind the scenes.
Sometimes He closes a door so He can open a bigger door, or He'll move someone out of your life because they're limiting your growth. What feels like a disappointment is really His hand ordering your steps to get you to a new level.
Maybe you went through a loss, you're discouraged, thinking that you've seen your best days. If you only knew what God was up to, that God has beauty for those ashes, that new doors are going to open and new friendships are coming, you would live from a place of peace, knowing that the best part of your life is still in front of you.
A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You that when things don't go according to my plans, I can know that You are working behind the scenes and in charge of my steps. Thank You that You love me too much to leave me on my own. I believe that You will work all of these things together for my good. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

Be a Lifter
Today's Scripture
"Encourage the hearts of your fellow believers and support one another, just as you have already been doing." (1 Thessalonians 5:11, TPT)
There are times when people need you to stand in the gap when they're down, even if they're off course, not making good decisions. It's easy to criticize and find fault. "Why did they do that? They should have known better."
They don't need your judgment; they need your faith. Try a different approach. Pray for them. Ask God to show them mercy, to get them back on course. You can be the one who pushes them past the discouragement, who lifts them back on their feet.
God is counting on you to be a friend with faithnot a friend with criticism, a friend with judgment, a friend with jealousy.
Be a lifter, be an encourager. Tell them that you're praying for them, that you love them, that you believe in them.
Your faith can be what lights their passion. Your faith can be what breaks the addiction. Your faith can be what God uses to propel them into their destiny. And you'll discover that when you help others in need, there's no limit to how high God will take you.
A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You for all the people You have placed in my life. Thank You that I can stand in the gap for the ones who are down and need my faith, my prayers, my encouragement. Help me to have a heart of compassion and to be a lifter of others. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

Can-Do Power
Today's Scripture
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13, NKJV)
When God designed you, He knew what pressures you would face: financial pressure, relationship pressure, raising children pressure, dealing with an illness pressure. If that pressure was going to crush you, God wouldn't have put you there. He doesn't make mistakes. Whatever you face, remind yourself that you can handle it. Now you have to get in agreement with God. If you go around thinking, "This pressure at work is too much. I can't take it," that's going to defeat you.
The Scripture says you are full of can-do power. You are well able to overcome opposition, to outlast adversity. But can-do power doesn't do any good if you have a can't-do mentality. Quit looking at all the things you can't do. Have a new perspective: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. This obstacle may be big, but I can overcome it. This trouble is taking longer than I thought, but I can outlast it. This situation feels overwhelming, but I'm designed for it. I'm strong, I'm anointed, and I'm equipped."
A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You for designing me with strength for every pressure that I will ever face. Thank You that You have already equipped me with power to overcome opposition and outlast adversity. I declare that I am strong and can do all things through Christ. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

Not by Might
Today's Scripture
"This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' says the LORD of hosts." (Zechariah 4:6, NKJV)
You may be feeling worn out, just trying to make it through your days. But God is about to breathe new life into your spirit, new passion into your dreams. It won't happen by your might or power, but by the Spirit of the living God.
He's going to make things happen that you couldn't make happen, bring things out of you that you hadn't known were in you. He's going to give you a greater anointing, greater talent, greater opportunities. You're going to see a new level of strength, a new level of stamina, a new level of endurance.
What used to bother you is not going to bother you anymore. What used to be too much is going to be easy to overcome. Where you used to be intimidated and fearful, there's going to be a boldness to step up to who you were created to be.
You have not seen your best days. You have not accomplished your biggest dreams. You have not run your best race. Get ready for explosive blessings that catapult you ahead.
A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You for the power of the Holy Spirit in my life that is so much greater than all of my might and power. Thank You that You are coming to equip and empower me in ways I don't even know I need. I believe Your Spirit will lift me up to become all You created me to be. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

Testing Your Character
Today's Scripture
"Until the time came to fulfill his dreams, the LORD tested Joseph's character." (Psalm 105:19, NLT)
Before your dream comes to pass, God will test your character. You have to prove that you can handle what He's entrusted you with.
God gave Joseph a dream that he would be in leadership, but his brothers took away his coat of many colors that represented his father's favor and sold him into slavery in Egypt, where he was falsely accused and put in prison.
These weren't just random bad breaks; God was testing his character. It wasn't fair, but Joseph didn't get bitter. He kept passing the test. His brothers took his robe, but they couldn't take his favor. They took his freedom, but they couldn't take his anointing. They took him from his home, but they couldn't take his dream.
All these steps prepared him to become the prime minister of Egypt.
Be a Joseph. Do the right thing when it's hard. That difficulty is not there to stop you, it's there to prepare you. Keep passing the test. God is about to release you into a new level of favor, influence, and resources.
A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You for loving me so much that You work to refine my character and bring me up higher. Thank You for the training and preparation process that You are taking me through even now. I believe that I will pass the tests and get to where You are taking me. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

All Along The Way
Today's Scripture
"Not one word has failed of all the good promises he gave through his servant Moses." (1 Kings 8:56, NIV)
When God brought the Israelites out of slavery, God showed them their destination, the Promised Land. But in the middle God didn't say, "I gave you the promise, and now you're on your own. Good luck."
All along the way, God supernaturally provided them with blessings--parting the Red Sea, provisions in the desert, protection from enemy nations. He was showing them and us, "I'm not just the God of the start and the finish. I'm the God of the middle who will bring you through the adversity."
When you're in the middle, God has given you the promise, and you know the destination. But you're en route. You're in the process of raising your child, believing for your healing, or running that business. Along the way, you'll face situations that look impossible--the odds are against you, the opposition is stronger, the report says you're not going to get well.
Be encouraged, knowing that the God of the middle is right there with you. Keep moving forward, knowing that God is in control.
A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You that Your favor is holding back the walls of water and keeping my enemies from defeating me. Thank You that not one word of Your promises will fail. I believe that what You have purposed for me will come to pass and nothing can stop it. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

No Compromise
Today's Scripture
Then Saul said to Samuel, "I have sinned. I violated the LORD's command and your instructions. I was afraid of the men and so I gave in to them." (1 Samuel 15:24, NIV)
King Saul lost his throne, and today's Scripture provides the reason. God had told him to do certain things, but he disobeyed because he was afraid of the people. God was going to take him to amazing places, but Saul didn't want to disappoint the people. He knew the right thing to do, but he didn't want to rock the boat. People pressured him and squeezed him into their mold. As a people pleaser, he did not reach his potential.
Don't let somebody squeeze you into their mold. Listen to other people's advice, but be strong and follow that still, small voice inside. Nobody can hear God's direction for your life like you. God doesn't give someone else more insight about your destiny than He does you. Others may have insights, but God speaks to your spirit. You don't need their approval; the Most High God has approved you. The One who breathed life into you has accepted you. Don't let the fear of other people keep you from doing what's right.
A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You that I don't have to let other people squeeze me into their mold. Thank You that You speak to me with directions for my life, and Your approval is all that I need. I'm not going to be pressured into compromising what I know is right to do. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

Build People
Today's Scripture
"Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the Lord's people." (Philemon 1:7, NIV)
Do you know how many people have never been told "You are a winner"? There are most likely people in your life right now--maybe your own family members--who are starving for your approval. They are craving for you to speak blessing and encouragement over their lives.
You don't know what it will mean when you let them know that you are proud of them and you think they will do great things. Everyone needs to be valued, appreciated, and encouraged. If you talk with any successful people, they'll tell you somebody spoke faith into them when they didn't think they could do something.
What kind of seeds are you planting in others? Are you believing in anyone? Are you taking an interest to see how you can make someone's life better?
Listen to their dreams. Find out what God has put in their hearts. Let them know you're behind them. Give them your approval. Encourage them, lift them when they've fallen, celebrate when they succeed, pray when they're struggling, urge them forward. Be a people builder.
A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You for Your hand of blessing in my life. I ask You to work through me and help me to speak kind words, offer compliments, give encouragement, and lift up those around me. Help me to listen and find out what You have put in their hearts and be a people builder. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

A Life of Generosity Rewarded
Today's Scripture
"It is possible to give away and become richer! It is also possible to hold on too tightly and lose everything." (Proverbs 11:24, TLB)
Today's Scripture could read like a contradiction, but God's ways are not our ways. Everything in you may say, "If I'm going to fix my finances and overcome my problems, I don't have the money or the time to help anyone else. When I get my problems solved, I'll help others."
No, giving your time, energy, and resources to helping others in their time of need is what's going to open the windows of heaven and cause your problems to turn around. You're never going to end up with less.
Here's the beauty: When you help others, what you give is going to come back to you not in the same proportion, but pressed down, shaken together, and running over. It's a seed you're sowing that's going to keep coming back to you and multiplying.
When you live a life of generosity, when you make sacrifices to help other people rise higher, it's not just going to affect you, it's to going to affect your children. It's going to be more than you imagined.
A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You for the promise that it is possible for me to give away my time and resources to those in need and yet prosper. Thank You that as I sow seeds of blessing in others, You will cause it to multiply in coming back to me. I believe that You will open the windows of heaven to me. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

The Best Is Yet to Come
Today's Scripture
"The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day." (Proverbs 4:18, NIV)
It's easy to start thinking that we've seen our best days when our business slows down, a person walks away, or a plan fails.
But God never does His greatest feats in your yesterdays, they are always in your future. Today's Scripture says that what God has in front of you is more fulfilling and rewarding than anything you've seen in the past.
But sometimes before it gets brighter, it gets darker. Before we see more than enough, we go through a season of not enough. There are times when He's shaking things up to move you out of the good into the best. If He didn't close those doors, you wouldn't see the fullness of your destiny.
We may not like the process, and it may not make sense to us, but that disappointment, the breakup, or the slow season won't stop what God has for you. It's getting you in position for favor that you've never seen. You're going to come out, not like you were before, but healthier, stronger, promoted, and increased.
A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You that when I face difficulties and disappointments that You're getting me in a position for favor. Thank You that my path will get brighter and brighter and that my best days are still out in front of me. I believe that You always cause me to triumph. In Jesus' Name, Amen.""

Hearts Will Turn
Today's Scripture
"Take your flocks and herds and be gone; and oh, give me a blessing as you go." (Exodus 12:32, TLB)
When Moses told Pharaoh again and again to let God's enslaved people go, Pharaoh wouldn't listen. He didn't respect Moses or pay him any attention. He dismissed Moses as second class.
What's interesting is that after the last plague, when Pharaoh finally decided to let the Hebrew people go, instead of dismissing Moses as not good enough, now Pharaoh recognized the hand of God on Moses. He saw the anointing and felt the power to where he asked Moses to bless him!
God knows how to change people. You don't have to play up to them, or try to convince them to like you, or let them control and manipulate you in order to try to win their favor.
No, walk in your anointing. Run your own race, always honoring God with excellence and integrity. God will turn the hearts of those who are against you and who disrespected you the most to ask for your blessing. It may take years, but they're going to recognize the favor on your life.
A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You that You are going to use the difficult people in my life to show me Your favor and bring glory to Your Name. Thank You that I don't have to play up to anyone to get them on my side. I believe that You are turning the hearts of those who are against me to be for me. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

Difficulties Bring A Push
Today's Scripture
"I thought, 'Surely I shall die quietly in my nest after a long, good life.'" (Job 29:18, TLB)
In the Scripture, Job had his nest all fixed up, had his house just as he wanted it, and had a successful business. Things were going great. He was finally comfortable, but what happened? God stirred up his nest.
God doesn't bring the trouble, but He will allow difficulties to push us into our destiny. Almost overnight Job lost his health, his children, and his business. If the story stopped there, it would be a sad ending.
But Job understood this principle. In spite of great difficulties, he said, "I know my Redeemer lives." He was saying, "I know God is still on the throne. This trouble is not going to defeat me; it's going to push me." In the end Job came out with twice what he'd had before. God's dream for his life was greater than he could imagine.
Every difficulty you go through pushes you to mature, to trust God more, to be more resilient and determined. Keep the right attitude, and God will push you to a new level.
A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You that no difficulty and no one can upset Your plans for my life. Thank You that You purposefully order my steps in the way that is pushing me to new levels of my destiny. Help me to declare that You live and are on the throne in the tough times. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

Why You're Special
Today's Scripture
"Isn't this the carpenter's son? Isn't his mother's name Mary, and aren't his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas?" (Matthew 13:55, NIV)
When Jesus went around healing the sick, curing the lepers, and teaching with great authority and wisdom, great crowds followed Him. People looked at His family background, and they couldn't understand it. They asked, "His father was just a carpenter, nothing special. How can his son be doing miracles and be this influential? Where does Jesus get the wisdom to teach so powerfully?"
They were looking at His natural father, at His background and training. They didn't realize who His Heavenly Father was.
Sometimes life will tell you that you're average, that you've reached your limits, that you've gone as far as you can. "Look at your family. There's nothing special about you. You can't do anything great."
That may be true in the natural, but you have another Father. No discredit to your natural father, but your Heavenly Father is the giver of all good gifts. Your spiritual bloodline overrides your natural bloodline.
If you're going to see the greatness that belongs to you, the favor, the influence, and the talent, look to your Heavenly Father today.
A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You that You are constantly working, constantly showing me Your goodness, with every good gift that comes into my life. Thank You that You are my Father and that my spiritual bloodline overrides the natural. I will look to You today to bring out my greatness. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

How You Handle the Blessing
Today's Scripture
"Don't repay evil for evil. Don't retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and He will grant you His blessing." (1 Peter 3:9, NLT)
God's favor on your life means that He will release greater blessings, greater influence, and greater resources. But you have to realize that as others see you succeed, some smallminded people will get jealous and start criticizing, finding fault, trying to make you look bad.
You have to be able to handle the negative that comes with the blessing. If you're going to be offended and upset, if you allow it to bring you into conflict with people, then the blessing won't be a blessing.
You don't have to respond to the negative comments and people who don't like or understand you. Keep your heart pure and don't try to repay them. Be good to those who aren't good to you. Overlook what they say or do.
The sooner you quit giving the negative your time and attention, the better off you're going to be. You have the grace to rise above it, the grace to ignore it, the grace to not let it bother you. Step into that grace and move forward to greater blessing.
A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You for giving me the grace to rise above the negative comments and people who are not for me. Help me to bless those who have done me wrong, to leave them in Your hands, and to believe that You are taking me to new levels. I look forward to even greater blessings. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

Be Merciful
Today's Scripture
"Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful." (Luke 6:36, NIV)
Friend, no matter who we're in relationship with, no matter how good of a person they are, at times, they're going to disappoint us, let us down, and hurt us. It's easy to let that press us down and become sour. Before long we have a list of all the things they've done wrong, all the things we don't like about them, how they don't measure up. It's all about past hurts, past failures, what they said, how they treated us. The easy way out is to disconnect and stop spending time with them.
You have to let the past go. This is a new day. God's mercy is fresh every morning. Come into the present. Life is too short for you to hold on to hurts, to focus on what they did wrong. Give that person room to be human. Show them the mercy that God has shown you. Don't hold grudges. Forgive them and move forward. Be kind, encourage them, be generous, and help them reach their dreams as much as you can.
A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You for freely giving me Your mercy that I might freely give it to others. Thank You that I can let the past go, that I can forgive, love, and move forward. Help me give others the space to be human and not disconnect from them. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

Steer Your Ship
Today's Scripture
"Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go." (James 3:4, NIV)
In James 3, it compares the tongue to a rudder of a ship. Even though the tongue is a small part of the body, it's steering your life. What you're saying is determining which direction you go.
The good news is, you have control over your tongue. The next time you're tempted to say something negative about yourself, your future, your children, or your finances, zip it up. Don't steer toward defeat.
Are you sending your words out in the direction you want your life to go? The psalmist David says, "God will crown the year with a bountiful harvest, even the hard places will overflow with abundance." You can go around saying, "This year looks like another tough year," or you can say, "Father, thank You that even in a famine, even in a downturn, I am favored. Thank You that You're not limited by my circumstances or the economy. Thank You that I am prosperous and I will overflow with joy, peace, and strength." That's steering your ship toward increase, steering your ship toward overflow.
A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You that You created me to use my words to steer my life in a way that's in agreement with You. Help me to not just zip my lips before I speak words that could harm, but to use my words to edify. I believe that You will help me to speak in a way that leads to victory. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

A Great Reward
Today's Scripture
"Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward." (Hebrews 10:35, NKJV)
When things happen that aren't fair, when doors close that don't make sense, when you're doing the right thing but the wrong thing keeps happening, you have to trust that God is still in control and that He knows what's best for you. He doesn't always take us down the path that we thought. Be patiently confident. Your time is coming. He's already lined up the breaks you need, the open doors, the right people, the healings. It's already on your schedule.
If you don't cast away your confidence, God will richly reward you. You may have gone through some disappointments, but He'll make things happen that exceed any of your expectations. The reason He closed those doors is because He has something better. Don't be discouraged by what didn't work out. Stay in faith. The right opportunity is on the way. Now don't get talked out of your dreams. You haven't seen your best days. God is going to do something you've never seen, something that will catapult you to a new level.
A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You that when I can't see a way, I still know that You have a way. Thank You that my confidence is anchored to You, and that You will richly reward me beyond my expectations. I believe and declare that my time is coming and is right on schedule. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

Set Times
Today's Scripture
For Sarah became pregnant and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time God had told him. (Genesis 21:2, AMPC)
Abraham was one hundred years old when Sarah did what seemed impossible and gave birth to Isaac at the age of ninety, exactly at the set time God had promised. They had waited for the fulfilment of the promise over twenty years, had seen no sign of it happening, and every circumstance said there was no way. But God is faithful. What He promised was en route.
Maybe God has put promises in your heart that seem too late. You don't see how you can get well or how your child can get back on course. When thoughts tell you that it's too late, let that go in one ear and out the other. God is lining up the healing, the favor, the good breaks--they're already on your schedule. It's all set in His timing. Keep honoring God and every blessing that has your name on it is coming in. People can't stop it, bad breaks can't stop it, age can't stop it, the economy can't stop it, and forces of darkness can't stop it. Get ready for it.
A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You that You have established set times to bring Your promises to pass in my life. Give me the grace to accept Your timing and wait patiently, knowing that You've already scheduled things in for me. I believe that my times are in Your hands. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

What Faith Is All About
Today's Scripture
"Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the LORD drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided" (Exodus 14:21, NIV)
When the Israelites made their exodus from Egypt and God parted the waters of the Red Sea, imagine how strong that wind had to be to blow back the water and sustain it in a wall. It was incredibly loud, noisy, and chaotic. Families were running as fast as they could, feeling confused and panicked.
In one sense, God sent a storm on top of another storm. They probably thought, "This can't be God. Things are getting worse instead of better." They didn't know what God was up to until they got through it.
When you're in the middle of a miracle, sometimes it will feel chaotic. You may not hear angels playing harps and the heavenly choirs singing. Your circumstances may be troubled, noisy, full of opposition.
This is what faith is all about. We don't know what the future holds, but we do know who holds the future. Yes, there's uncertainty, but God controls the winds. He's keeping you from evil and harm. Trust Him between the walls of water.
A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You that You still control the winds, You still part Red Seas of difficulties, and You bring me through. Thank You that You hold back the walls of water and keep me from evil and harm. I believe and declare that I will trust You to take me through the walls of water. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

Walk on Water
Today's Scripture
"But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. "Save me, Lord!" he shouted." (Matthew 14:30, NLT)
In the darkness of night, Jesus came walking to His disciples across the stormy sea. Based on His word to "come," Peter had the courage to walk on the water to Jesus. Imagine how amazed Peter was as he took step after step, looking at Jesus, doing the impossible. As long as Peter focused on what Jesus said, he was fine. But when he started focusing on what he saw, he began to doubt and sink.
It's the same principle in life. If you stay focused on what you see, you can get talked out of your dreams. If you're focused on how the medical report is not good or how you'll never get out of debt, you'll be limited. You have to stay focused on what God says. When you focus on what He promises, you'll walk on water. You'll go places you couldn't go on your own. You'll overcome obstacles that are much bigger. The winds and waves are a test. Don't get distracted and start focusing on the negative.
A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You that the strong winds and waves of my life are not a problem for You. Thank You that You walk on water and call me to step out of my boat and walk with You. I trust Your leading in my life and declare that You are taking me where I couldn't go on my own. In Jesus' Name, Amen."
