in the Phil. what are the stuff that can use NFC? Are those new passports scannable (is taht a word) with those Phones that have NFC? that would be convenient so that I wont need to always carry my passport around for random checks here. What about those use in LRT or MRT cards?

As far as I know, Google Wallet via NFC only works in the US, as well as Electronic Passes.
We can still use NFC for file transfers and Automatic Profile update via Smart tags.

Not familiar with NFC. Or hindi pa naman ito ginagamit sa ngayon kaya shouldn't be a consideration when choosing which phone to buy?

I personally eat at Jollibee and ride the MRT. Cash and old school card pa din ang gamit ko.
Short answer: Yes, NFC is not a consideration. For me, LTE is not a consideration as well since naka mobile wifi ako with Sun.

@wheelee
Yes, we know the uses of NFC worldwide.
@Tony5
I 100% agree with you on LTE also. Malaki premium ng LTE dito sa atin imo it's not worth it for now, at least for me.

I believe so sir. We can see its application in security (condo/apartment access), credit/debit card payments, and transportation (beepcard)
Phone-wise, I've yet to see people here utilize Google or Apple Pay. Again, in my experience lang po ito! Baka po sa experience ng iba, marami na among their circles and gumagamit ng NFC function sa phone
